Metaphanies

Project team: Eleni-Ira Panourgia and Asad Khan

From Greek 'meta’ meaning ‘past’ and ‘phainomai’ meaning ‘to appear.’

A relic of a performance, a fossilised, a crystallised echo of that which was performed, in order to be re-animated, to find its way to be heard once again. To make a torsion, a fissure in reality through which we can exhume the temporality of both sound, and the lived experience of the performance. The residues or remnants, remainders of an event in time, read through the fluidity of video-gram. To capture the fleeting moment, before it decays, but to capture it in its state while it is becoming something else. Always on the verge of becoming the other, operating at the loss of the referent.
