Teaching and Research Fellow (ATER) @ the Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée

I am a Teaching and Research Fellow (Attaché temporaire d'enseignement et de recherche - ATER) at the University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. My work focuses on intersections of visual-spatial and temporal dimensions in a responsive and interactive way in relation to materials, their processes and technologies. I have recently completed a PhD in Art at the University of Edinburgh as a Scholar of the Onassis Foundation. I hold an integrated Masters Degree in Sculpture and Visual Arts (2014) from Athens School of Art and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where I studied as an exchange student (2012-13). I have studied music performance of piano and cello, and I hold a degree in Harmony (2008) from Aghia Paraskevi School of Music in Athens, Greece. I am member of Greek Sculptors’ Association, the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and RAFT Research Group, co-founder of sIREN research network and co-founder and managing editor of Airea Journal.

Research Interests

My research focuses on intersections of sculpture, spatial dimensions and sound. I am working simultaneously on sculpture making and sound and I am interested in developing an understanding of such complex morphologies and their potential within artistic, design and social processes. I take a process- and performative-based approach in exploring this subject and I am experimenting with the development of interactive environments. My research interests also include material exploration, audio-visual relationships, participatory and interactive design.
